Hormonal Acne
Hormonal acne is one of the fundamental cause of acne breakouts in teenagers. Both boys and girls are vulnerable to hormonal acne but boys are more prone to have hormonal acne as compare to girls. During teenage, your body produces higher amounts of various hormones like testosterone and progesterone. Excessive amount of both these hormones stimulates the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum. When excessive sebum is produced, hair follicles get inflamed clogged. When sebum is continuously being produced and hair follicles are clogged, it put pressure on walls of hair follicles to burst. Therefore, bumps arise due to inflamed and infected hair follicles and overproduction of sebum. Thus, overproduction of sex hormones, stimulates sebaceous glands to produces excessive sebum. There are various ways for treating hormonal acne, eating balanced diet, taking certain pills and retinoids etc. but getting hormonal acne is not so easy as considered. It usually lasts after teenage.
